Why we built this

WE LOVE THE GAME.
WE RESPECT THE NUMBER.

4th & Money started with the same argument every football fan has had with a friend: “I know who's better—but is that really the right bet?” This is where we work out the answer.

Our point of view

Good analysis should make you smarter even when you don't place the bet.

We're building the kind of college football site we want to read: serious enough to do the work, clear enough that you don't need a spreadsheet open beside it, and honest enough to show the losses.

The model matters. So do the offensive line, the new coordinator, the transfer corner being asked to play 60 snaps and the storm sitting ten miles from the stadium. The edge usually lives in the connection between those things.

The weekly process

Four steps. Same standard.

01

Watch the matchup

Personnel, transfers, returning production, line play and scheme tell us how the game should unfold.

02

Build the number

Efficiency, pace, opponent adjustments and roster quality create a fair score and range.

03

Pressure-test it

Travel, injuries, weather, coaching changes and likely game script challenge the baseline.

04

Make the call

We set a playable threshold, explain the path to cash and name the risk that can beat us.

What you'll always get

A clear answer.

Best Bet, Hold, Pass or Stay Away—plus the exact price where our answer changes.

What you won't get

Fake certainty.

College football is noisy. We publish the assumptions, the downside and the result because confidence without accountability is just marketing.
